….in a village of 500 people only three taps reach the village area and frequently the Primary School tap runs dry.
Not to make you feel guilty or anything, but just think about us everytime you run to the sink to wash your hands. Or bathe using a running shower. Or lay in a giant bathtub full of warm water. When the school water pipe (plastic tube) is not running (fairly often), I walk 5 minutes to fill up plastic bottles with water that i use to wash dishes, cook with and drink- and my water supply is “close.” My little sisters go several times a day to their source , which involves crossing a river and walking 5-10 minutes, lugging 5-10 water bottles that will be used throughout the day. This water project will create taps throughout the village, not to mention cut down on malaria. Just sayin’.
So open your hearts and your wallets.
Jennifer
